LinkedIn is a great example of how the perception of a high noise to signal ratio can affect our experience of reality negative even when there is a lot of absolute signal.  Eternally grateful for everyone who has thought me by example. Different people showed me how to love, think, write, cook, have fun, work… and I’m a better person because each and every one of them. I’m out here collecting the best traits out of the people I meet throughout life until I become some kind of Pokemon master. Leading by example is so much more powerful than any sort of theoretical teaching. I’m lucky enough to now - at 22 - have people around me who lead by example and shape my worldview. They are crucial in my development. Some people find these “leaders by example” early in life, other’s much later, and some never find them at all. I’ll try to be one of those people to the younglings around me , especially sisters and cousins. I hope to give them a chance to quickly escape from toxic worldviews.   We should be making physical play available all the time. The best way to do pull ups consistently is not to set a gym schedule but to have a pull up bar in your living room.  Something really sad happening right now: I'm watching friends who are great human beings full of life, ideas, skills, and passions, get absolutely swallowed by devoting their time to soulless big corporations where their uniqueness is not valued. My friend, you are a whole ass human being. Do you really want to spend your 23rd year of life supposedly optimising the culture or a bank that would run exactly the same way if you weren't there? If I wanna fry my brain, I can think of at least a dozen better ways to do it than to stare at shitty internal communication tools for 80% of my awake time.  The illegibility of our minds and it’s implications are a disaster to the human race Every day, people as mentally distinct as these two are physically go head to head in mental boxing matches in the same weight class AND WE THINK THAT IS NORMAL. These people don't even appear to be from the same species, let alone have the same physical skills. The same exact thing is happening inside our minds, but nobody seems to give a shit about that because it is illegible and thus the default (easiest) behaviour is ignoring it. Imagine how much good, peace, and progress if we actually arranged people according to their mental weight class and let them challenge each other! Imagine how many frustrations and traumas would be spared to those that don't fit in the class they spend their lives interacting with and feeling alienated as a result!
